Cost of doing what you love!

As you may know I love to race tandem bikes. I could do this all the time.
Of course that doesn't pay the bills. So how can I do this full time and
still pay my bills? Finding a sponsorship would be great. That would
really help me focus on racing as I could go part time at work. It would
give me more time to train and reach my goal of making the 2012 Paralympics
and winning a medal. Maybe someday the sponsorship will show up. Then I
could put more time into racing and motivational speaking and my other goal
in life would come alive. That goal is to help other individuals in this
world that are faced with challenges. When I was a motivational speaker I
always knew if I touched the heart of one person in the audience I was
successful. Same thing now...I'm meeting the challenge head on of training,
racing and moving toward the 2012 Paralympics. Did I touch your heart?

The Chariot of Fire!

Filling the void!

Did you ever have a burning desire to do something? Right now I have this
fire inside of me. I used to race boats when I had sight and loved the
speed, power, thrill and excitement!!! Then for many years I did other
things to fill the void since I couldn't race. Went to college (MSOE), got a job,
involved in Jaycees, Toastmasters, delivering motivational presentations and
on and on and on!!! The more I look back at these many things I did, none
of them filled the void. That is, not until now. I found a sport that
ignites the fire inside of me. The sport is tandem bike racing. I started
two years ago and it certainly fills the void. I love working on my tandem
and more so I love the competition. It is fast, powerful, thrilling and
totally exciting. I cannot get enough. I live every moment breathing and
sleeping tandem bike racing. Well, at least when I'm not at work. What
ignites the fire in you?
